Position: IT Project Manager

Duration: Initial 6 month contract - Full time hours

Location: Selby - 1-2 days required in office per month, otherwise remote

Day Rate: Negotiable (via Umbrella Company)

About the role

As an IT Project Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of multiple IT projects of differing values that meet the desired business outcomes to the agreed time, cost, and quality standards.

Some key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining focus on your project business case incl. financial management of £multi-million Capex/Opex budgets associated with your project(s)
  • Ensuring your projects are resourced effectively with both internal team members and external partners with effective management of your project team.
  • Ensuring realistic project plans are in place and maintained with risk based contingency planning.
  • Vendor management, procurement, and collaboration to ensure the best toolsets are in place that can provide the most efficient business and project outcomes.
  • Using the delivery framework for agreed templates, stage gate reviews and financial governance appropriate for the delivery. Use the agreed templates and tools for tracking project progress plans, reporting and RAID. ADO for agile backlog.
  • Use escalation channels to remove blockers in a timely manner.
  • Plan and manage Project Boards and engage stakeholders to provide status updates, highlight issues and obtain decisions and direction.
  • Ensure appropriate Business Readiness activity has taken place including impact assessments, Go/ No-Go and deployment planning.
  • Engagement with the Security, Architecture and Service Delivery Teams to ensure service integrity, strategic alignment and to ensure seamless transition into Application Support (Acceptance into Service)

Skills/ experience required:

  • Previous delivery of full IT project life cycle in demanding customer-centric environments.
  • Successful management of risks and issues, and proactively seeking resolutions.
  • Proven stakeholder and vendor management skills.
  • Strong system skills with a keen eye for automation and efficiency.
  • Strong compliance (scheduling & governance) knowledge.
  • Saas solutions.
