Internal Sales Account Manager

Are you a mechanically minded sales professional? Do you have experience in a subcontract manufacturing machining environment?

Internal Sales Account Manager for well-established engineering business based in Sheffield, salary circa £40K depending on experience - permanent position

The company is a market leader specialising in the design and manufacture of a diverse range of medium to heavy mechanical engineering projects and products within a variety of market sectors.

The position is exciting and due to further expansion, they are looking for a Sales Professional with a demonstrable track record in the development of new and existing business sales in the very wide and diverse field of Mechanical Engineering.

This is mainly adesk-based role concentrating on generating leads and account managing existing clients plus they will be an opportunity to visit clients if needed!

Job Role:

  • Identify leads and target relevant Companies.

  • Develop prospects from qualified leads.

  • Assist in the production of technical quotation

  • Engage with the prospect Company to identify needs and opportunities.

  • Secure enquiries for suitable contracts.

  • Follow-up on submitted proposals and quotations to prospects.

  • Negotiate and resolve any objections to the submitted proposal/quotation.

  • Convert proposals and quotations to orders.

  • Ensure the CRM system is utilised and updated to maximise sales opportunities.

  • Maintain customer relationships to build repeat business.

  • Account managing existing clients

Ideal experience:

  • Background of heavy machinery, laser cutting CNC sector would be a great match.

  • You will have a background within engineering to ensure technical understanding of product and processes. Experience within sector is essential ideally fabrication and machining.

  • Ability to drive sales and build strong client relationships

  • Generating leads and identifying target contacts?

  • Strong prospecting and sales experience

  • Track record of selling into relevant sectors

  • Experience of selling bespoke/high volume contracts

  • Experience of negotiating contracts.

  • Have a mechanicalengineering background or qualification

Personal qualities required:

  • Ambitious, credible and technically minded

  • Excellent organisational and presentation skills?

  • Good interpersonal skills

  • Comfortable dealing with customers and prospects at all levels

  • A team player willing to assist fellow colleagues

  • A good verbal communicator
