Sheffield City Council is seeking a dedicated Workplace Officer to join their Transport and Facilities Management team. This role is pivotal in supporting project management duties within the Projects and Move Management team, delivering cost-effective, customer-focused facilities management services, and supporting the council's vision and objectives.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Deliver effective project and move management programs, either directly or through contractors.
  • Supervise, train, and develop team members within the Projects and Move Management team.
  • Engage with partners, board members, elected members, and colleagues to ensure seamless communication and consultation.
  • Act as a client overseeing contractors, performing inspections, and supervising contract administration.
  • Ensure a safe work environment by complying with health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor and control financial, human, and material resources to ensure efficient resource management.
  • Produce and present performance monitoring information and reports to stakeholders.
  • Provide support and advice to building users on service issues, contributing to a supportive workplace environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in conducting inspections/surveys and preparing technical reports.
  • Good knowledge of facilities management and health & safety issues.
  • Awareness of statutory requirements for building maintenance.
  • Proficient in IT skills including Word, Excel, and Project.
  • Strong analytical, numeracy, and literacy skills.
  • Proven ability in effective contract administration and supervision of staff/contractors.
  • Relevant educational qualification or equivalent experience in a related field.
