My client, a large shared service organization based in West Yorkshire, is seeking an Interim Payroll Manager for a minimum of 3 months.
The position requires in-office attendance at least once a week and offers a pay rate of up to £25 per hour.
Key responsibilities include overseeing the payroll and pensions department, supporting the team during the recruitment of a permanent manager, and addressing complex payroll queries.
Candidates should have local government or shared services experience, familiarity with ITRENT/Oracle, and strong knowledge of current payroll legislation and technical aspects.
Project experience is a bonus, and applicants should be prepared to engage actively with the team during this transitional period.

Main duties of the role include;

Oversight of the payroll and pensions department
Support the team whilst they recruit on a permanent basis
Answer complex queries within the payroll team
Engage in project work where necessary

My client is therefore looking for a payroll professional with;

Local government experience or at least shared services experience
ITRENT/ Oracle experience
Strong, up to date legislation and technical knowledge
High volumes
Can get stuck in and hit the ground running, providing an arm around the team in a time of uncertainty
Project experience would also be a bonus
