Key Responsibilities as a Science Technician:

• Organising and preparing materials, equipment, and chemicals for practical science lessons.
• Supporting teachers and students during experiments, ensuring health and safety guidelines are followed.
• Monitoring and replenishing stock levels, including ordering supplies when needed.
• Assisting across biology, chemistry, and physics departments, with training provided where necessary.
• Maintaining and safely storing equipment and ensuring all resources are ready for use.
• Providing technical assistance to staff and students to facilitate effective teaching and learning.

Requirements:

• Experience working in a secondary school setting is highly desirable.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively in a busy environment.
• A good understanding of health and safety protocols in a laboratory setting.
• A valid Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate.
• A proactive, enthusiastic, and organised approach to work.
• Able to commute to the secondary schools in Sheffield.

Pay Rate:

• £100 to £120 per day, depending on experience.
