We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Programmes Manager to work for South Yorkshire Police on a temporary contract until the end of March 2025.

This role will be based at their headquarters in Carbrook, Sheffield but will be working hybrid.

Role purpose

  • To maximise the benefits of technological change that will enable force wide transformational and cultural change.
  • To supervise and oversee the implementation of the GRS duties system.
  • To oversee the delivery of reformed processes incorporating GRS in line with "adopt not adapt" methodology.
  • To oversee collaboration with interdependent internal business areas.
  • To assist formulate success measures and evaluate programme benefits / realisation.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise the programme delivery and develop strategies required for the implementation of GRS in South Yorkshire Police.

To include:

  • Leading the establishment and ongoing development of the programmes business benefits.
  • Maintaining and implementing programme road maps / timelines to meet programme go live dates.
  • Managing, scheduling, and executing all governance checkpoints and relevant boards.
  • Solve and unblock issues between teams and departments.
  • Monitoring and assuring changes to the Project Plan, identifying impacts on business requirements or the specific business case.
  • Monitor the programme's budget and adapting it according to any changing requirements.
  • Defining and managing risk mitigation and issues escalation, identifying appropriate resolutions. Report on solutions.
  • Identify dependencies in plans across services and co-ordinate delivery.
  • Identify and challenge organisational processes linked to the duties system to maximise efficiencies.
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders at all levels to gather business and user requirements and translate these into deliverable ICT solutions, whilst adhering to ICT strategic principles and demonstrating good value for money.
  • Development and management of customer/supplier relationships.
  • Provide consultancy and support for the duties programme.
  • May be required to work outside normal hours and travel around and outside of the force area.
  • Whilst home working is supported, there is a requirement for regular in person working at South Yorkshire Police Headquarters in Sheffield.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Knowledge and experience of project planning and methodologies - PRINCE2 / MSP Practitioner.
  • Must have experience of implementing SaaS Duty management System
  • Knowledge and experience of working in an IT solutions environment.
  • Demonstrable experience of manging, at a senior level, project delivery through the full product lifecycle.
  • Experience of communicating and engaging with both internal and external stakeholders at a senior level.
  • Educated to degree level in an appropriate subject matter area or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to collate information and assimilate into high level report.
  • In line with vetting requirements, the successful candidate must be vetted to NPPV3.
