Metal Forming Operative

Elevation Recruitment is partnering with an Aerospace manufacturer in Sheffield to recruit a Metal Forming Operative.

Shift: Mornings & AfternoonsSalary: £29,752.05 + 12.5% shift allowance = £33,471.05Location: Sheffield

Key Responsibilities:

• Forming sheet metal
• Working with exotic metals
• Fitting materials according to strict safety, quality, and work guidelines
• Using hand and air-powered tools, including riveting, drilling, and planishing
• Ensuring products meet precise tolerances
• Performing regular maintenance checks on machines and equipment
• Maintaining a safe and efficient work environment
• Collaborating effectively with co-workers to ensure smooth workflow
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, work instructions, and procedures

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar role
• Comfortable with physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting
• Aerospace industry experience is desirable
• Basic knowledge of lean principles (5S)
• Experience working to production targets
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings
• Comfortable working in environments with noise, dust, grime, and heat
• Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
