SEN Teaching Assistant

We are looking for dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to join our highly regarded specialist school in Sheffield. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about supporting young people aged 11-19 with a variety of special educational needs, including severe learning difficulties and associated disabilities.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Assist in the delivery of tailored educational programs developed to meet the studentsā€™ individual needs.
  • Support students in classroom activities under the direction of the lead teacher.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and ensure a safe and supportive environment for all students.
  • Facilitate communication between students and staff.
  • Monitor and record studentsā€™ progress, and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience working with SEN students in a similar or transferable role.
  • Must possess a valid DBS check on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
  • Strong understanding of the educational needs and challenges faced by students with severe learning difficulties.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
