We are seeking an experienced and committed Teaching Assistant for a full-time role in a welcoming mainstream primary school located in the central Sheffield area. This role involves providing 1:1 support for a Year 1 pupil with SEN, as well as offering general classroom assistance when needed.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Offer tailored one-to-one support to a Year 1 pupil with special educational needs, focusing on their learning, social, and emotional development.
- Assist the class teacher with planning and delivering lessons, adapting activities to meet the pupil's needs.
- Encourage the pupil's participation and engagement in classroom activities, promoting confidence and independence.
- Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to the teacher, SENCO, and parents.
- Support the overall classroom environment when required, ensuring smooth transitions and inclusive practices.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN, particularly in a one-to-one setting, is highly desirable.
- A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is preferred but not essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and empathetic approach.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children (Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply).
- A proactive and flexible attitude, with the ability to adapt to the needs of the school and pupil.
- Proficiency in the national Key Stage Curriculum.
- Eligibility to work in the UK (Note: Sponsorship is not available).
