Your new companyHays is proud to partner exclusively with a thriving business in Shrewsbury to recruit an experienced Credit Controller. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic team on a permanent basis, with flexibility for temp-to-perm arrangements or temporary cover while the permanent candidate transitions into the role.In this role, you will take ownership of key credit control functions, ensuring the company's financial stability and supporting its continued growth.Your new roleAs a Credit Controller, you will be an integral part of a small but dedicated Credit Control team, working closely within the wider Finance team. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Proactive debt management: Communicating with customers via email, telephone, and letter to ensure efficient debt collection.
  • Monitoring debtor days: Tracking and managing debtor days to maintain financial stability.
  • Credit account oversight: Reviewing and monitoring credit terms, conducting periodic evaluations.
  • Query and dispute resolution: Handling customer queries and disputes promptly and effectively.
  • Proof of delivery ownership: Managing the Proof of Delivery process with attention to detail.
  • Collaborative engagement: Building strong relationships by liaising with internal departments to enhance teamwork and communication.
  • Financial reporting: Preparing weekly and monthly debt reports, and coordinating with the Financial Controller (FC) for insights and actions.
  • Customer onboarding: Setting up new customer accounts efficiently and accurately.
  • Team support: Assisting with ad-hoc accounting duties and supporting the wider Finance team as required.
