Warehouse Operative – Shrewsbury Location: Shrewsbury (Shelton, SY3 8BJ) Contract: 3 Months (with potential to become permanent) Salary: £12.43 per hour (£24,242 pro rata)Hours: 37.5 hours per weekMonday to Thursday: 7:30am – 3:30pmFriday: 7:30am – 3:00pm Overtime: Ad hoc, paid at time and a half Structure: Fully on-site Driving Required: Yes – Full UK Driving Licence essential Morson Talent is recruiting on behalf of our client, Severn Trent, for a Warehouse Operative to join their busy site in Shrewsbury. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role that plays a key part in maintaining the region's clean water infrastructure. You’ll be responsible for issuing and receipting stock, managing deliveries, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring parts are available for engineering teams across Shropshire and Staffordshire. Driving will be required once or twice per week on a rota basis. - Pick, pack, issue and receipt of stock using barcode and SAP systems
- Conduct regular stock checks and cycle counts
- Ensure all stock movements are recorded accurately
- Manage inbound deliveries, checking paperwork and quality
- Deliver and collect materials from other sites as needed
- Support replenishment through SAP-generated MRP runs and physical checks
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards and comply with hygiene codes
- Liaise with suppliers and team leaders to resolve discrepancies
- Contribute to team improvement discussions and safety initiatives
Requirements Essential
- Full clean UK Driving Licence
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- Experience in a manual and customer-facing role
- Health and safety awareness
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on work
Desirable (not essential, please still apply if you have the essential but don't have the below).
- Previous warehouse or utilities industry experience
- Telehandler or Teletruck licence
- Understanding of underground water fittings
- Awareness of environmental standards such as ISO 14001
- Health and Safety qualifications (e.g. IOSH)
