Are you an experienced Payroll professional with system and process implementation experience?

The Company

Seymour John are working with our client based in Shrewsbury to secure a Payroll professional to manage their existing payroll function.

The Opportunity#

You will be responsible for providing a full cycle payroll and pension service, whilst managing one member of staff with your key areas of responsibility to include:

  • Manage a payroll and pension service, with an understanding of manual calculations
  • Knowledge of all statutory payroll payments to advise relevant staff and to ensure continued compliance with legislation.
  • Ensure monthly payments to external parties are made in a timely manner
  • Ensuring all statutory and pension returns, and the apprenticeship levy are submitted
  • Work closely with HR colleagues to ensure payroll changes are accurately and confidentially managed.
  • Provide full support for both internal and external audit services as requested
  • Develop links and build relationships with pension providers and HMRC to ensure an efficient service.
  • Keep up to date with changing legislation relating to payroll and pensions management and communicate this to relevant individuals to ensure compliance.
  • Working and reporting on staffing budgets and provide costing information, whilst helping managers to understand their staffing establishment, budgets and payroll
  • Take responsibility for the development of the payroll module within a new HR & Payroll system, assisting with configuration, set-up and testing and then ongoing use.
  • Work with the systems provider to develop the functionality of the payroll module and its links across the wider HR & Payroll system.

Personal Profile

The ideal candidate will be a confident Payroll professional with proven experience of managing a payroll and pension function, with an understanding a manual calculations. Ideally you hold or be working towards the CIPP qualification, coupled with prior exposure of working as part of a new HR and Payroll system implementation project. You will be an excellent communicator with a good level of excel reporting skills.

Hours and Benefits

35 hours per week (9-5) - Site based in Shrewsbury

28 days annual + Bank Holidays
