Overview:We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Financial Controller to join a client of ours. As the Financial Controller, you will oversee all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis:

    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
    • Monitor financial performance, including P&L, cash flow, and balance sheet analysis.
    • Perform variance analysis and provide insight into financial trends to support decision-making.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:

    • Lead the annual budgeting process, working with department heads to forecast revenues and expenses.
    • Manage financial projections and revise forecasts based on business changes.
    • Track budget performance and provide recommendations to optimise profitability.
  • Cash Flow Management:

    • Oversee cash flow planning to ensure the company maintains adequate liquidity for operations.
    • Monitor and manage accounts payable and receivable to optimise cash flow.
  • Accounting Operations:

    • Oversee the day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations.
    • Ensure accurate and timely processing of all financial transactions and month-end/year-end closings.
    • Maintain a robust internal control environment to safeguard company assets.
  • Compliance and Taxation:

    • Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and assist in preparing tax returns.
    • Manage audits and liaise with external auditors, banks, and other financial institutions.
    • Stay updated with changes in financial regulations and advise management accordingly.
  • Financial Strategy and Planning:

    • Support senior management in financial decision-making with strategic planning.
    • Analyse potential investments, new projects, and cost-saving initiatives.
    • Evaluate financial risks and opportunities and provide strategic recommendations for growth.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified).
  • Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within a small or medium-sized business.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with budgeting and cash flow management.
  • Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with small business financial challenges and solutions.
