We are seeking a dedicated Special Needs Teacher to join our dynamic team in Maidstone. This role is ideal for a compassionate professional who is committed to teaching students with special educational needs. The successful candidate will lead lessons across a variety of classes, tailored to the unique requirements of each student.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences for special needs students.
Develop schemes of work and lesson plans aligned with curriculum objectives specific for SEN.
Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
Observe and evaluate student performance and development.
Provide appropriate feedback on work.
Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students.
Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws and school policies.
Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school.
Participate in department, school, and parent meetings.
Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
Current DBS check in date or registered on the update service.
Proven experience as a Special Needs Teacher or similar role.
Strong knowledge of the curriculum and SEN strategies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Good organisational and time-management skills.
Great empathy and resilience with the ability to motivate students.
