Export Operator

Right Now Group are very proud to be working with a global freight forwarding business who are a leader in the worldwide aerospace industry.

Our client now requires a heavily experienced Export Operator to provide a world-class, turnkey freight forwarding service to their prestigious client base via air, sea and road from their state-of-the-art Heathrow facility, based in Colnbrook.

Responsibilities of an Export Operator:

• Provide accurate shipment quotations by obtaining details relating to regulations, certification and documentation.
• Competently advise and recommend customers to help achieve their turnkey requirements
• Coordinate daily import and/or export operations of various commodities, including reviewing orders and documents.
• Track and effectively communicate any delay, damage or issue and closely liaise with the customer to resolve.
• Ensure shipments are billed within company guidelines and timelines.
• Process and comply with all regulatory agencies' requirements.
• Execute Dangerous Goods shipments in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Establish a relationship as a trusted advisor to your customers, providing a one-stop-shop for shipments.
• Partner with customers to advise, determine and qualify their shipping requirements.
• Ensure all customer SOP instructions are adhered to.

Skills of an Export Operator:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in multimodal export operations.
• Fluent oral & written English skills, with any other major European language skills a bonus.
• Strong ability to recognise opportunities to improve shipping processes.
• Ability to resolve problems that are not considered routine, by using extensive knowledge and experience in the field.
• Able to perform in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
• Happy to muck in with the team, and work out of hours if/when required to complete customer shipments.
• Excellent customer-service skills.
• Cargowise knowledge (Desirable).

Location: Colnbrook, Heathrow Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday Hours: 09:00 - 17:30 Salary: £35,000 - £38,000 Benefits: 25 Days Holiday (plus Bank Holidays), Private Healthcare, Pension Scheme, Bi-Yearly Bonus Scheme, Yearly Salary Increase, Paid Overtime, Paid On-Call Rota (From Jan 2025), Potential Hybrid Working (After Probation - Needs to be Applied For).
