The Opportunity

We are seeking an outstanding Production Manager to run production activities at its system manufacturing facility in the UK. Working as part of the senior management team, and reporting directly to the Operations Director, you will be responsibleproducing Electrical Control Cabinets, Pressurised Water Vessels and testing all manufactured equipment to ensure quality and safety requirements are met. There is an emphasis on team development, with people, quality, and sustainability at the centre of everything.

Coupled with delivery of exceptional quality products, in market leading lead times, you will be responsible for implementing an environment of challenge and innovation, with continuous improvement at the forefront of your thoughts. You will play a significant role in bringing together key stakeholders in the business, ensuring commercial targets are met, and improvement is repeatedly delivered.

The Role

Strategic Responsibilities:

  • Leading, managing, and developing the systems production and test team, ensuring a culture of encouragement and ownership is in place.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, in particular exceptional communication
  • Drive and deliver continuous improvement through production, demonstrating tangible quality improvement, working towards 100% RFT.
  • Take the lead with driving change and creating a LEAN production setup.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and manage the implementation of projects to realise benefits, both within production, and other operational areas
  • Work closely with other key stakeholders within the business, understanding bottlenecks and providing solutions.

Operational Responsibilities:

  • Ensure Health & Safety excellence is implemented and maintained, with ongoing training requirements met and clearly defined roles and responsibilities within the team.
  • Manage and plan production resource levels to drive efficiency and meet financial targets.
  • Review daily production progress to ensure on time delivery.
  • Work closely and seamlessly with the quality and procurement departments to improve incoming component quality, reducing the volume of rejects.
  • Support other departments and/or supervisors as needed (providing cover, identifying shortages, responding to quality issues, kitting, and despatch).
  • Drive KPI improvements.
  • Improve visual management.
  • Manage all facilities related to the factory, ensuring subcontractors are managed accordingly.
  • Implement and maintain preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Ordering of tools, disposables, and cleaning equipment
  • Capability acquisition of capital equipment
  • Taking pride in your facility, maintain high housekeeping standards throughout factory.
  • Recruitment of staff members, holiday allocation, sickness, and all other HR related tasks

The Individual

We are looking for a leader with a successful track record in Production Management. You will be a driven self-starter who is looking to make a difference.

You will need to have / be:

Degree or equivalent in engineering, manufacturing, or related field

  • Data driven with strong analytical skills

5 years + in manufacturing

  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems

Previous Production Management experience

Strong & proven leadership skills

Able to work in a pressurised environment
