A thriving, independently owned SME Group based in Bristol, expanding both organically and through acquisitions, have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, hands-on Group HR Manager to join their team and work across their Bristol sites.

Group HR Manager Role: This crucial position encompasses all aspects of HR management, including recruitment, training, engagement, welfare, performance management, and communications. Reporting directly to the CEO, the successful candidate will be a confident communicator with a strong commercial mindset, acting as a trusted advisor to the senior management team.

  • Contracted Hours: 37 hours per week, with a 12:30 pm finish on Fridays

Responsibilities of Group HR Manager:

  • Provide first-line support, training, and advice to managers on employee performance and legal matters
  • Review and develop the Group's benefits offering in collaboration with the senior team
  • Design and review performance management processes, manage and retain talent, and plan for succession
  • Develop skills matrices and training plans to support employee development
  • Manage training suppliers, organise training events, and support and advise managers and employees
  • Continuously monitor and improve HR policies and processes, implementing changes as necessary
  • Manage and support the recruitment process, including adverts, selection, interviews, and offer documentation
  • Participate in apprentice recruitment and development

Experience, Attributes & Skills for Group HR Manager:

  • Preferably CIPD qualified, with a minimum of 5 years' relevant experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of all HR aspects, including employment law, L&D, and recruitment/selection
  • Excellent influencing skills, with the ability to present and interact at all levels
  • Commercially astute, supporting the business in achieving its growth and financial targets
  • Approachable and compassionate, capable of handling sensitive situations
