We are recruiting for Forensic Services Support Officer to provide administrative support the local police force’s Scientific Services Department.
Base in Netley, you will provide a range of support services to the department.
Responsibilities include:
- To provide ongoing administrative support roles within the following areas
- Scenes of Crime
- Digital Forensics
- Forensic Submissions
- Chemical Treatment Unit
- Fingerprint Bureau
- Forensics Intelligence
- To handle exhibits (incoming/outgoing) and maintain records
- Ensure that information from source documents is accurately recorded on police systems in a timely manner
- To archive and retrieve documents and exhibits to/from central archive
- Provide a range of management information and support
Skills and experience necessary
- Ability to manage workloads and resources
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Awareness of the rules regarding evidence gathering, exhibit handling, continuity, integrity and the Criminal Justice System and be prepared to offer evidence and attend court if required.
- Ability to build effective relationships with customers, colleagues and stakeholders
- Ability to manage customer expectation
- Competent IT user in a variety of corporate and stand alone systems and applications
- Desirable to have an understanding of the technical and procedural processes within Forensic Services.
- Confident decision maker and problem solver
This is a temporary, full-time role, for up to 6 months, paying £15.09 per hour PAYE.
These roles will require police vetting and employment checks as part of the recruitment process. Â
