Would you like to work in a school supporting children to make a positive change in their lives?

School Staffing Solutions are looking for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work in specialist school in the Bassett Green area of Southampton. The school are looking for someone who can build relationships with children who find it difficult being in school and often don't engage in their learning. The students need staff who will be patient and nurturing in their approach to help build lasting relationships.

We are interested in hearing from people with a wide range of backgrounds including but not limited to:

  • Qualified Teaching Assistants/LSA's
  • Graduates looking for teaching experience

  • Youth workers
  • Childminders

Your role as a Teaching Assistant will be working across KS1-4 on a 1:1 basis but also with small groups ensuring that children receive a consistently high quality of education in a safe and stimulating learning environment. You will need to be passionate about guiding children of all abilities to reach their full potential and have a good level of spoken and written English and Maths.

About you:

  • School based experience as a Teaching Assistant role is desirable or experience working with children.
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative
  • Good sense of humour
  • Able to build relationships
  • Resilient and have 'bounce back' ability
  • Current DBS registered on the update system or willing to apply
