Legal Assistant - Wills, Trusts, and Probate

Location: Southampton

Salary: up to £26,000

Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Are you a detail-oriented, proactive individual with a passion for supporting legal professionals? Do you have an interest in wills, trusts, and probate law? We’re looking for a dedicated Legal Assistant to join our team and provide vital support to our busy Wills, Trusts, and Probate department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting solicitors in managing caseloads, including the preparation of legal documents, correspondence, and forms.
  • Liaising with clients, beneficiaries, and other parties in a professional, compassionate manner.
  • Conducting legal research as required to support casework.
  • Managing diaries, coordinating meetings, and booking appointments for solicitors.
  • Organising and maintaining files, both digital and physical, ensuring all records are up-to-date.
  • Assisting with billing, invoices, and other administrative tasks as required.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Legal Assistant or in an administrative role within a legal setting, ideally in Wills, Trusts, and Probate.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and case management software (experience with [specific software, if applicable] is a plus).
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
