We are seeking a highly technical and detail-oriented Works Chemist to join our client's Materials Laboratory team, at their Aerospace Manufacturing facility in Hamble-le-rice.
This role is responsible for all aspects of chemical and physical testing/analysis while supporting production activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and executing daily laboratory activities, ensuring compliance with quality, NADCAP, customer, and EHS standards.
This role presents an excellent opportunity to develop as a technical specialist with potential to become the NADCAP focal. Reporting directly to the Materials Laboratory Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring quality and compliance across their operations.

Role-Specific Responsibilities:
Conduct chemical and physical testing/analysis of wet chemical treatment lines, ensuring compliance with quality and EHS requirements.
Plan, organise, and implement chemical laboratory activities.
Support physical and thermal testing activities.
Participate in risk assessments and process safety reviews for regulatory compliance.
Lead EHS and REACH activities related to chemicals and treatments.
Support analysis of the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) performance.
Ensure compliance with test data trending and analysis.
Implement root cause corrective actions as part of continual improvement initiatives.
Assist in the preparation and hosting of NADCAP audits related to chemical processing.
Support audits of other NADCAP commodities as needed.
Contribute to the Proficiency Testing Programme (PTP) for laboratory methods.
Essential Qualifications & Skills:
Degree in Chemistry or a related science discipline, OR equivalent years of high-level technical experience.
Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail.
Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact at all levels.
Ability to work both independently and within a team.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Desired Qualifications & Skills:
Experience working in a high technical level role within an engineering, manufacturing, or testing environment.
Technical report writing experience.
Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques for results analysis.
