Job Overview:
Are you a detail-oriented Estimator/Quantity Surveyor with a passion for delivering high-quality projects? We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team in Southampton, working across social housing, fire protection, MOD sites, hotel fit-outs, and the NHS sectors. If you have a strong work ethic and thrive in a collaborative environment, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:
Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for a diverse range of projects, including social housing, fire protection systems, MOD sites, hotel fit-outs, and NHS sector developments.
Analyze project documents, drawings, and specifications to identify costs and potential challenges.
Collaborate closely with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather accurate pricing and ensure alignment with project goals.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive bids and quotations.
Evaluate and compare tender submissions, presenting clear and concise reports for management review.
Support the preparation of tender documents and ensure timely submission of bids.
Monitor project budgets and provide regular updates to the project team to ensure financial control.
Engage in value engineering discussions to identify opportunities for cost savings while maintaining project quality.
Participate in post-project evaluations and assist with cost reconciliation processes.

Qualifications:
Proven experience in estimating and quantity surveying, ideally within a main contractor environment.
Strong knowledge of estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent analytical and numerical skills with a keen eye for detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, fostering effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
A proactive and positive attitude, demonstrating a commitment to high-quality work and continuous improvement.
Willingness to split time between the office and site initially, transitioning to hybrid working once comfortable.
