Teaching Assistant - SEND Schools in Southport & Sefton

Tradewind Recruitment is excited to be recruiting passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistants to work in SEND schools across Southport and Sefton. These roles involve supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other associated needs, providing a nurturing and supportive learning environment.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the education and development of students with special educational needs, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with ASD and related needs.
  • Assist with classroom activities and promote inclusive learning.
  • Support students in developing social, communication, and emotional skills.
  • Work closely with the teaching team to implement tailored educational plans.
  • Help manage behaviour in a positive and constructive way.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children, particularly in SEND settings, is desirable but not essential.
  • A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to supporting students.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • A positive, proactive attitude and a passion for working with children with special educational needs.
