This is a fantastic opportunity to play a crucial role in supporting the procurement function, ensuring compliance with public sector regulations and helping deliver value for money across key contracts.Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support procurement activities across the council in accordance with regulations and internal policies
  • Assist with the preparation and evaluation of tenders and quotations
  • Monitor and manage supplier performance, ensuring contract compliance
  • Provide advice and guidance to internal departments regarding procurement best practice
  • Maintain records of contracts and procurement processes for audit and transparency
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to identify procurement needs and opportunities
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvements and procurement strategy development
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Previous experience in a procurement or purchasing role, preferably in the public sector
  • Proficient in using procurement or financial management systems
  • Strong understanding of UK procurement regulations and frameworks
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
