Were looking to appoint some energetic and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to work at a newly acquired provision based at St Columb Major in North Cornwall.

This provision will will cater for Early Years and Key Stage 1 pupils with social, communication needs and/or autism.

The contract will be set up on a fixed term arrangement, initially running until 31/08/2025. Working hours for Teaching Assistants will be from 08:50am to 15:40pm.

The successful candidates will be expected to undertake induction training and familiarisation at Curnow Lower School.

The role of an SEN Teaching Assistant at Curnow School may change during the day, dependent upon the support needs of each pupil. The successful candidates will be required to work alongside a class teacher and other support staff and to follow any recommendations / guidance from multi agency teams.

Experience of supporting pupils with challenging behaviours, severe physical and/or learning difficulties is essential for this position. A warm and empathetic personality is vital, as is a desire to work professionally with others to ensure we provide the best possible support for our pupils. A commitment to continuing professional development is necessary; we work closely together and roles may be interchangeable to meet the needs of our pupils.

We are committed to safeguarding children and the successful applicants will be required to undertake an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
