Our Client an Engineering company are seeking an Instrument technician for a permanent position in St. Helens location. This role is placed within Oil & Gas, chemical & petrochemical, nuclear, pharmaceuticals & biopharma, power & energy, utilities and renewables markets.

This is a permanent opportunity based on site in St Helens.

Role

As a Control Panel Test Engineer, you will carry out Inspection, Testing and Commissioning of Electrical and Instrumentation panels / systems in house and on site.

Responsibilities

As a Control Panel Test Engineer, you will be responsible to carry out Inspection, Testing and Commissioning of Electrical and Instrumentation panels / systems in house and on site as required.

You will ensure all work is completed to specification and deadlines and you will liaise with the customer on site to ensure completion of the works.

You will assist in the building and wiring of control panels when required. Attend sites to complete modifications to existing / new panels when required.

Qualifications

  • Instrument technician will have experience of testing industrial control panels, on site installation work, commissioning of systems, instrumentation and control panel wiring.
  • Knowledge and understanding of 3 phase systems, MCC control panels, PLC systems and schematics drawings.
  • Time served electrician / Instrument technician.
  • Small bore pipe pressure testing.

You will need:

  • City & Guilds- 2391 Test & Inspection.
  • City & Guilds 2382 18th Edition.
