Workshop Foreman/ Team Leader

We are looking for a Workshop Supervisor to oversee workshop operations for a business who continue to grow year on year and contribute to our century-long legacy of innovation and quality in electrical solutions.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Relay information between the workshop and the engineering department, ensuring clear communication across multiple business departments.
  • Become an integral part of the time planning team for projects, adhering to schedules and maintaining program compliance.
  • Develop and implement good working practices in both the workshop and on-site environments.
  • Oversee workmanship quality and mentor apprentices to enhance their skills.
  • Manage day-to-day duties within the workshop's stores area and assist in maintaining a conducive workshop environment.
  • Adhere to and contribute constructively to the workshop's quality system processes.
  • Manage the installation of project equipment on-site and within the workshop, including GRP substations and electrical containment.
  • Interpret drawings and technical schematics to guide project execution.
  • Handle customer interactions on-site and manage daily team meetings aligned with company KPIs.
  • Monitor project allocation and progression, managing team performance to meet company standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Relevant electrical qualification, such as Level 3 in a related field, BTec, City and Guilds, or a recognised apprenticeship. (Desirable)
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and technical schematics.
  • Proficient in general IT skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in a team leader role, preferably in the electrical industry.
  • Knowledge of SAP is desirable.
