Your new company
We are currently recruiting a Financial Support Officer to work within a Housing Association.


Your new role
As a financial Support Officer, you will work with the income team, ensuring high quality income management for new customers and support existing customers with the smooth transition over to Universal credit (UC). You will offer customers money management advice and will support with any benefit applications and offer advice on what benefits might be available.

This role will be mainly based in their head office in St Helens, but you will be required to support across all offices, the others being Liverpool and Warrington, so you must hold a valid UK driving licence. Your working week will be Monday-Friday-37 hours per week and, although the role is mainly office-based, after training you will have the opportunity to work from home 1-2 days per week.


What you'll need to succeed
Ideally, you will be CIH Level 3 qualified or willing to work towards this, and you will be educated to GCSE level or NVQ equivalent in English and Maths. Experience of income management and enforcement of debt collection is essential, and you will require good knowledge and understanding of legal frameworks relating to tenancy arrears recovery.
Extensive knowledge of welfare reform and welfare benefits and knowledge of universal credit are required.

You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills and will be able to work effectively as part of a team and also on your own initiative. Strong ICT skills and an understanding of relevant IT applications are essential.
