Reeson Education is partnering with a specialist setting in the SK15 area to recruit a Learning Support Mentor. This is a full-time, long-term role leading to a permanent contract with the setting.

This Learning Support Mentor role is a fantastic opportunity for a compassionate and resilient individual looking to support young people with additional needs. The setting caters to students with SEMH, autism, ADHD, and other learning challenges, providing a structured and supportive environment where they can thrive.

About the Learning Support Mentor Role:
  • The Learning Support Mentor will provide tailored support to students, helping them engage in their education and build confidence.

  • Work closely with teachers and therapists to implement learning strategies and behaviour support plans.

  • Support pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, encouraging positive social interactions and engagement in learning.

  • Help students develop essential skills, regulate emotions, and build resilience.

  • The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM.

The Ideal Learning Support Mentor Will:
  • Have experience supporting students with SEMH, autism, ADHD, or related needs in an educational or alternative setting.

  • Be patient, understanding, and confident in supporting pupils with varied learning styles and behavioural needs.

  • Be proactive in creating a structured, calm, and engaging environment.

  • Have a background in education, youth work, social care, or a related field (desirable but not essential).

  • Be committed to securing a long-term and permanent position in a specialist setting.

Learning Support Mentor Requirements:
  • A clear Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

  • Two professional references covering the last three years.

  • A strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and tailored learning approaches.
