In this role, you will oversee the daily operations of the finance function, leading a team of four responsible for accounts payable, payroll, cash collections, and general ledger support. You will take full ownership of the general ledger and monthly management accounts, ensuring reports are delivered accurately and on time. Managing weekly payment runs, preparing quarterly VAT returns, and submitting monthly Gift Aid claims will be essential aspects of your responsibilities.

Additionally, you will support the Finance Director in executing system improvement projects and collaborate with external IT providers as needed. Your commitment to developing your own skills and those of your team members will be key to your success.

About You:

You are a strong leader with proven management experience, adaptable and able to think on your feet.
An enthusiastic approach and excellent work ethic are essential, along with keen attention to detail to uphold the highest standards .

Ideally, you'll be a qualified accountant, but if you're currently studying, the organisation is committed to supporting you in completing your qualifications. Alternatively, if you are qualified by experience and possess strong people management skills, we would love to hear from you. Experience in the charity sector is a plus!

What's on Offer:
You will enjoy the opportunity to work flexibly, balancing home and office-based arrangements to suit your lifestyle. In addition to this flexibility, the organisation offers a generous pension scheme and exclusive staff discounts, ensuring you feel valued and rewarded.

You'll join a supportive and collaborative work environment where professional development and growth are encouraged. You'll play a vital role in a leading charity dedicated to preserving heritage and making a positive impact on the community.

This is your chance to contribute to something meaningful while advancing your career in a dynamic and inspiring setting.
