Reed Legal are recruiting for a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Cashier to assist our client's Accounts Manager in the efficient operation of the Accounts Department. Our client is a leading law firm specialising in property debt, conveyancing, and lease extension. They are committed to excellence, integrity, and client satisfaction. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in accounts, keen to ensure compliance and enhance financial processes within a legal setting.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Assist with daily accounting tasks and maintain up-to-date filing systems.
  • Work closely with the Accounts Manager to ensure all records are updated daily and compliant with The SRA Accounts Rules.
  • Utilise VT, Quill, Database, and Excel for all compliance and record-keeping.
  • Issue cheques and manage payments in accordance with SRA Accounts Rules.
  • Handle invoice processing, credit notes, and purchase ledger activities.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and perform bank reconciliations.
  • Process bank payments adhering to the firm’s policies, including 2-factor authentication.
  • Manage banking activities, including the banking of cheques and handling bank-related queries.
  • Assist in the preparation and processing of payments and staff expense claims.
  • Support the conveyancing team by preparing and checking completions and setting up bank payments.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven legal accounts experience 
  • Familiarity with accounting software such as VT and Quill.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to maintain detailed records.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
