A leading manufacturing business are currently looking for a Safety Manager to join their growing team. Working closely with wider electronic, software and systems engineering teams to ensure safety processes are continually reviewed and optimised. This is a full-time permanent position with hybrid working.Location: Stevenage

Security Clearance: BPSS required post-offer (UK citizen or Dual UK national)

We’re looking for a Safety Manager to lead the delivery of safety engineering outputs across multiple projects, ensuring safety processes are continuously reviewed and integrated within system engineering. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge products in a dynamic environment, collaborating closely with electronic, software, and systems engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform hazard analysis and safety evaluations, ensuring effective integration into engineering processes.
  • Lead and support safety engineers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality Safety Case Reports and hazard analysis outputs (FTA, Functional Failure Analysis).
  • Work with design engineers, project teams, and customers to ensure safety practices are embedded within projects.
  • Balance safety against cost and time constraints, optimising safety assurance efforts in complex systems.
  • Report findings to senior management, contributing to system safety assurance across projects.
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Experience in safety reporting, hazard analysis, FTA, and system safety processes (e.g., Def Stan 00-056).
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Proven ability to generate Safety Case Reports and safety documentation, mitigating hazards in complex systems.
  • Experience with complex electronic systems and system engineering processes.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and analytical skills.
  • Degree-qualified (BSc/BEng/HND) or equivalent experience.
