SEN Teaching Assistant - Stevenage

Engage Education is currently working with a therapeutic SEN School based in Stevenage, the school is looking to take on up to 4 SEN Teaching Assistants.A well-established organisation that provides therapeutic education to children and young people who have complex Social, Emotional and Mental Health and Autism / ASC. Many of their pupils come from disadvantaged backgrounds and have anxiety and trauma.

About the role:

The needs of the pupils they cater for range from:

  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health

  • Autism - ASC - ASD

  • MLD

  • Sensory learning

The ideal applicant will:

  • Experience working with students from a challenging background is a must.

  • Those who have experience professionally or personally worked with those on the Autistic spectrum should apply

  • The application should have a strong understanding of the challenges facing those with Social, Emotional Mental Health issues.

  • Those with direct experience supporting young people with Mental Health issues

  • You may have a background in a similar school, residential setting or with social work or youth work

  • Have a positive mindset, flexible approach and a can-do attitude

  • Candidates with Team Teach or MAPA trainer are highly encouraged to apply
