Then this firm is just the place for you. They are currently recruiting for NQ – 1yr PQE Personal Injury Solicitors/Legal Executives in Court of Protection to join their growing firm, working flexibly from home and our NW office. The successful candidate would work closely with the Partner and Head of Department in building and developing the Court of Protection Team. Your primary role would be to handle the management of Property and Affairs Deputyships, working with brain injured and vulnerable clients, Trust management, assisting with tax affairs and accounts, drafting Personal Injury Trusts, Statutory Wills, and other associated applications to the Court of Protection. They always put outcomes before profit and pride themselves on investing in their colleagues, demonstrated through their Investors In People Gold Standard accreditation and being recognised by Best Companies as one of the best law firms in the country to work for. Key responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Partner on Deputyships focused on providing litigation support, with the potential to manage an independent caseload as the number of cases increase, some of which might include contentious Deputyship work
  • Provide comprehensive legal advice and representation to clients and family members, within the context of the Mental Capacity Act and other relevant legislation, supported by the Partner
  • Attend clients at hospitals, in their home and care/nursing homes
  • Make regular payments to clients and keep accurate schedules of these payments.  Also forecast forward spending and creation of budgets
Skills
  • Good working knowledge and experience of Court of Protection
  • Claimant experience 
  • Experience of using a case management system
  • Flexibility to work across the firm's offices and travel within the UK as required
  • Ability to work within limits of own competence and seek guidance and support where needed
Qualifications
  • Qualified Solicitor status or equivalent
  • Full driving licence and own car
