Electrical Commissioning Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join our client’s team. This role focuses on the commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of control systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in PLC programming, particularly with Siemens STEP 7 and WinCC, ensuring the successful integration of electrical and automation systems.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Oversee and execute the commissioning of electrical and control systems.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure successful installation and integration of equipment.
  • Program and modify Siemens STEP 7 PLC systems to meet project-specific requirements.
  • Develop, configure, and troubleshoot WinCC HMI interfaces.
  • Perform in-depth troubleshooting and diagnostics on electrical and automation systems.
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues, working closely with field devices, instrumentation, and control systems.
  • Produce detailed commissioning plans, testing protocols, and operational manuals.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, project specifications, and health & safety regulations.
  • Prepare commissioning reports and provide feedback for continuous improvement of systems and processes.
  • Provide technical support to clients and site operators during the commissioning phase and post-installation.
  • Offer hands-on training for operators on the use of electrical systems and control interfaces.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications or training in Siemens STEP 7 and WinCC programming.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical commissioning.
  • Proven track record of commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting complex control systems in industrial environments.
  • Knowledge of industrial control systems, SCADA systems, and field devices.
  • Experience with electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and instrumentation systems.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and regulations within the AD sector.
  • Willing to travel to Germany to complete training courses if necessary.
