Candidates must have experience of usingultrasonic testing (UT) as a non-destructive testing (NDT) method to inspect the integrity of welds by sending high-frequency sound waves through the material to detect internal flaws like cracks, lack of fusion, or porosity, ensuring the structural soundness of welded joints without damaging the component.

Responsibilities:

Calibration and setup:

Setting up the ultrasonic testing equipment, including probes and couplants, ensuring proper calibration for accurate results.

Data interpretation:

Analyzing the ultrasonic signals to identify and characterize defects within the weld, determining their severity and location.

Reporting:

Documenting findings in detailed reports, including the size, type, and location of identified defects, along with recommendations for further action.

Quality control:

Ensuring compliance with relevant NDT standards and procedures to maintain the quality of inspection process.
