Our client, a global leading consultancy seeks to employ a Quantity Surveyor and a Senior Quantity Surveyors who have experience of using the NEC, FIDIC contract within an energy environment (Power & Renewable Energy & Power Generation, Carbon Capture, Hyrdogren, Nuclear etc) to join their growing project team.This is an excellent opportunity to work on this flagship programme which will have a major impact on the environment but also various communities in the UK.   • Implementing all principal accountabilities for the contract commercial team in accordance with the client's commercial procedures.
  • Managing the procurement process, ensuring alignment with the Integrated Work Schedule for effective contract signature.
  • Managing key scopes of work in contract commercial management during the execution phase, including Compensation Events and Variations.
  • Overseeing the payment application process for high-value, complex contracts, including commercial auditing requirements.
  • Acting as the Intelligent Customer to meet stakeholder expectations regarding commercial probity and fair treatment of the supply chain.
  • Leading supply chain engagement based on collaborative working principles to build effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Managing contract commercial relationships to achieve equitable outcomes and early commercial close-out of contentious topics.
  • Ensuring compliance with the approved Supply Chain Policy and managing contracts to embed a safety culture.
  • Reporting to a Senior Commercial Manager or Supply Chain Lead, including assessing contract scope, duration, and expected value.
  • Maximising operational and financial performance while minimising commercial risk during the execution phase (post-award).
  • Final account agreement management and effective delivery of the contract, including recording commercial lessons learnt.
  • Administering commercial management tools like CEMAR and SAP.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in Petrochemical, Oil & Gas, hydrogren, Renewable Energy and Power Infrastructure projects is a must
  • Good understanding of procurement, contract performance measurement, risk, change, and claim management.
  • Understanding of framework contract and long-term service agreement negotiation.
  • Strong knowledge of contract performance measurement, risk management, change and claim management.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of NEC & FIDIC contracts in the power construction industry and familiarity with UK Law.
  • Proven track record of successfully administering contracts.
  • Experience working within a regulated environment.
  • Membership in a professional body such as MCIPS, RICS, CICES, IOB, CIPS, or IACCM is desirable or in progress.
