We have the pleasure of supporting a UK manufacturing business with the recruitment of a Management Accountant for a long-established business who form part of a Global £300m turnover business.
Based in Stoke-on-Trent, at the UK Head Office this business manufactures speciality products and pride themselves on their premium quality and consistent innovation.
As the Management Accountant you will be working closely with the Finance Director, leading a small accounts team to maintain and improve management accounting systems and to prepare the monthly management accounts and related financial analysis.
This business offers hybrid working and a benefits package that includes 25 days holiday + bank holidays, early finish on a Friday and a generous healthcare package!
Main responsibilities of the Management Accountant role will include:
- To take ownership of the month-end process, to prepare the monthly management accounts and related financial analysis under UK GAAP and IFRS.
- Preparation of Statutory Accounts and annual tax package in line with timetable.
- To maintain financial control and report on Manufacturing costs and Inventory.
- To maintain financial control of all balance sheet accounts including stock, provisions and accruals.
- To assist the FD in the preparation of business budgets, forecasts and plans.
- To assist in the investigation, analysis and explanation of all variances compared with budget and business plan targets.
- Preparation of the following years standard costs in line with the budget
- Compiling monthly board pack including analysis of variances for senior stakeholders.
- Preparation and submission of the quarterly Tax return to HMRC
- To review and report on the monthly payroll, prepare the Company’s P11D returns and submit to HMRC
- To manage the Company’s standard costs on an on-going basis
- To oversee capital spend and report on overspends.
- To investigate cost discrepancies using IFM query and Mapics Browser tools.
- To deputise for the Finance Director as appropriate.
- Support with the development of internal sales software and new system implementation
What you will need to succeed:
- Superior IT skills including Excel and ERP
- Superlative analytical skills
- Ability to interpret data and draw accurate, insightful and practical conclusions
- High level of accuracy
- Previous experience within a manufacturing business would be preferred
Qualifications Required
- Professional accountancy qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA)
