Description
- Directing and managing all mechanical maintenance activities in the engineering and manufacturing department.
- Ensuring the optimum efficiency and safety of all machinery.
- Implementing preventive maintenance programmes to minimise downtime.
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment malfunctions.
- Collaborating with other engineers to improve manufacturing processes.
- Keeping detailed records of machinery maintenance and repairs.
- Regularly conducting risk assessments and safety checks.
- Providing technical guidance to junior engineering staff.
Profile
A successful Mechanical Maintenance Engineer should have:
- A relevant qualification in mechanical engineering
- Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of machinery and hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex machinery issues.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
