Job Title: Project Engineer Salary: 40,000-45,000

Project Engineer required for an Engineering & Manufacturing company based in Staffordshire.

Role Overview As a Project Engineer, you shall be responsible for managing the programs/projects within the company's manufacturing Division. You will have previous experience of managing new product development programs/projects across all functional disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the engineering delivery required for the revenue projects. Liaising with the revenue project managers to ensure the engineering technical spec and BoM can be released on time.

  • Ensuring the revenue projects and the documentation release adhere to the company's standard and processes.

  • Supporting new product development projects from the initial concept, through the development process, prototype build, verification & validation, and eventual product launch.

  • Creating and maintaining project schedules based on the project scope. Working with cross-functional teams to establish an achievable project plan and schedule.

  • Facilitating regular project meetings to drive project progress. Managing project critical paths and prioritizing work to maintain key project milestones.

  • Monitoring and controlling project scope. Documenting project scope changes according to the process with the impact on the project timescale, budget, and quality.

  • Managing risks and issues on the projects and applying mitigations and resolutions. Escalating to senior managers when risks and issues are likely to threaten project delivery.

  • Ensuring the new product development process is adhered to and all documentation is released according to the process.

  • Utilizing and maintaining project management tools, methods, and templates to improve consistency across all projects.

  • A good communicator with excellent written and oral communication skills. Able to articulate to both internal engineers and external suppliers at all levels.

Skills and Experience:

  • An engineering background in mechanical, electrical, electronic, and software.

  • Experience managing Engineering Projects ideally across multiple engineering disciplines with a proven track record of successfully released products.

Qualifications:

  • Degree educated preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering.

  • Ideally PMP or similar PM professional qualification or PRINCE2 qualified

  • Ideally with engineering background experience.

  • Minimum of 3 years previous experience gained within Engineering
