Job description

Salary:£28,000 per year
Contract:Full-time, 40 hours per week
Working Hours:7:30 AM 4:00 PM (with a 30-minute unpaid break)
Location:Due to the location of the factory you need your own transport.
Weekend Work:Availability to work weekends (potentially 1-2 times every 3 months)
Team:Supervising a team of 9 staff members

Role Overview:

As a Hygiene Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining high hygiene standards across our production facilities. You will lead a team of 9 hygiene operatives, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, managing daily cleaning schedules, and supporting the hygiene team across two sites. This role is primarily based in Frampton on Severn, with occasional travel to our Tetbury mill as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and lead a team of 9 hygiene operatives, ensuring all hygiene activities are carried out effectively and efficiently.
  • Implement and maintain cleaning schedules to meet company and regulatory hygiene standards.
  • Conduct regular hygiene audits and inspections, ensuring compliance with food safety and health regulations.
  • Train, motivate, and develop hygiene staff to uphold high standards of cleanliness and safety.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and minimal disruption during cleaning processes.
  • Manage and monitor hygiene stock levels, ordering supplies as necessary.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping of cleaning activities, audits, and staff training.
  • Address and resolve hygiene-related issues promptly and effectively.
  • Be available to work weekends as required (approximately 1-2 times every 3 months).
  • Travel between the sites when necessary.

Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience in a hygiene supervisory role within a food manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and food safety standards (e.g., HACCP).
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and travel between sites when needed.
  • Proficiency in record-keeping and reporting.
