Michelle Denny Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a new client who are a reputable family-run business based in West Suffolk. Renowned for their commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction they are looking to enhance their already successful team and are now searching for a dynamic Logistics Team Leader to contribute to their continued success.Hours of work: Monday – Friday 08.30 – 17.30 (May require some flexibility)Salary £35,000 negotiable depending on level of experience. Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the logistics team to ensure efficient and timely and safe delivery of goods.
  • Coordinate and oversee the entire logistics process, including route planning for 8 multi-drop rigid vehicles daily.
  • Optimise logistics operations, fleet management and maintenance to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to ensure any potential issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining, servicing, and repairing fleet of vehicles including ensuring the compliance of operator’s license, CPC and tachograph are up to date.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies and general HR duties associated with a busy warehouse environment.
  • Ability to source alternative carriers/couriers as and when required.
  • Driver training including accident and incident management.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, providing training and support as needed. Including covering for the Warehouse Team Leader in their absence.
You will need:
  • Proven experience as a Logistics Team Leader or similar role with drive and enthusiasm to manage the performance of a team and to maintain an efficient distribution partner to the sales department.
  • A can-do attitude coupled with strong leadership and time management skills.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities, with an eye for detail.
  • To be a motivational team player, committed to the values and objectives of the business.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills with proficiency in logistics software and inventory management systems.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet business needs.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient logistics operation.
  • A clean driving licence is essential, HGV Class 2 and forklift driving being a real benefit.
  • Experience with pallet network/ express carriers, contractors and 3PL management
  • Knowledge of imports/exports would be an advantage.
