The role of the CQC Lead is to support the Assistant Director for Safeguarding and Quality to work with the Adult Social Care Directorate and Senior Management Teams to ensure readiness for regulatory inspection by the Care Quality Commission. The role will also manage the Practice and Quality programme to deliver transformation, change and improvement to achieve excellent assurance standards within Suffolk County Council, as part of the suite of programmes delivering our Adult Social Care Strategy, People at the Heart of Care. The CQC Lead will manage the operational relationship with the Care Quality Commission.

The CQC Lead will line manage as required and will guide and support any associated business change resource allocated to the Quality programme. The role will take on specific responsibilities around programme leadership: this could include managing work such as Demand Management, Change Management and Improvement Tools; Mandated Change, Corporate Transformation, Collaboration & the Suffolk System; Management Information and Business Intelligence; Governance; Implementation and Benefits Realisation etc.

The coverage of this role will change from time to time as circumstances require in response to the rapid pace of change in modern public services.

The post holder will be flexible, able to stay calm in the face of competing pressures and complex organisational and system-wide issues and be able to implement solutions and initiatives at pace.
