Working on a varied and good quality portfolio of audit clients, within the owner-managed corporates, not for profit and charities, the Audit Senior will work alongside Audit Managers on key and mid-tier accounts. The position will be in a client facing role, establishing strong relationships with a significant number of business owners across the region.
Key responsibilities of an Audit Senior will include:
Take a lead on the audit process from planning through to completion
Undertake non audit assignments, including accounts preparation and tax computations
Prepare a job to meaningful and realistic budgets, liaising with Manager on any issues
Demonstrate good utilisation of relevant software
Demonstrate an awareness and some understanding of the clients business and manage each job to ensure client expectations and deadlines are met
Assist in the development of others, particularly trainees through providing thoughtful feedback on jobs, offering coaching and support as necessary and supporting the Manager with useful, constructive feedback as appropriate
Sharing best practice and ideas within the team for process improvement and development of each other
Communicate verbally and in writing with clients
Effectively manages Partner and Manager expectations, communicating regularly on progress of jobs
Remain informed about legislative, technical and regulatory changes and share knowledge amongst the team
About you
ACA / ACCA qualified
Minimum 2-3 years experience in an Audit capacity, ideally in Practice
Good level of technical knowledge of Audit & Accounting standards
Knowledge of accounting systems and control environments within a finance function
Previous knowledge of the charities and academy sector would be advantageous
Familiar with accounting software including Sage and Xero
Previous use of CCH and Caseware would be an advantage
Strong Excel skills including vlookup, sumif and Pivot Tables
Ability to communicate and engage with clients in a professional but personable manner
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Engaging communication style & active listener
Must have the ability to drive and access to own transport as travel to client sites will be necessary
