Are you an HR superstar looking for your next fun and rewarding role? Our client is the UK’s largest independent online pet store, is on the hunt for an HR Advisor to join our team for a 7 month maternity cover period.

This is a part-time role candidates (two days per week) 

What will you do?

As our HR Advisor, you will:

  • Work closely with management to ensure business plans are turned into reality
  •  Handle everything from recruitment, onboarding and IT set-up to training, performance management, disciplinaries, grievances and resignations
  • Be the go to person for employees queries, keeping our team happy and motivated
  • Ensure we have the right people in the right places, both in the warehouse and office
  • Using BrightPay, you will be responsible for running the monthly payroll. Ensuring PAYE amounts, DEO/ AEO payments are forwarded onto our finance department with information on who and when to pay
  • Always ensure the HR strategy works to support he business, providing flexibility when required
  • Through Nest you will manage new joiners, changes, auto enrolment, leavers and opt-outs
  • Ensure employee clock-ins are correct
  • Maintain compliance at all times with relevant employment law, GDPR and H&S guidance
  • When required assist management in creating and updating training materials
  • Deliver relevant reports/ information as and when required

Who are we looking for?

We’re searching for someone who’s passionate about HR :

  • Qualifications: CIPD Level 5 and substantial experience or equivalent working experience
  • Experience: Previous experience as an HR Officer/ HR Advisor is essential
  • Knowledge: A strong understanding of UK Employment Law and how to use this in practice. A good understanding of managing a monthly payroll from start to end and also a good understanding of relevant H&S law
  • Systems: Prior experience of using ATLAS, BrightPay and UAttend would be advantageous but is not essential. Other than this we use Gmail for emails and Microsoft Office
  • Detail orientated: You will have excellent attention to detail ensuring all work is completed to a high standard
  • Communication: You will have strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to communicate at all levels
  • Problem Solving: You will be able to deliver solutions and will work well to deadlines
  • You will enjoy being an active member of the team and encourage others to do so
