Our client, a renowned global electronics company, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Programme Manager to spearhead their Product Development Department. The company operates worldwide and boasts a well-established presence with manufacturing, R&D, and commercial operations on a single campus.

Role Overview
The Programme Manager will oversee a portfolio of projects within the Product Development Department, ensuring timely, budget-conscious delivery while maintaining high standards of quality. This role requires exceptional leadership, communication, and organisational skills, along with the ability to manage cross-functional teams effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Development: Create and implement a project management process based on industry best practices, customised to meet the company's unique requirements. Work closely with project managers and technical leads to ensure consistent application across all projects.
  • Project Planning: Develop detailed project plans, outlining scope, objectives, timelines, resources, and deliverables for each project within the portfolio.
  • Resource Management: Design and implement processes and tools for effort recording, work estimation, and capacity planning. Prioritise tasks and allocate resources to ensure project completion within budget.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including team members, clients, and the leadership team, to ensure alignment on project goals and priorities.
  • Risk Management: Identify risks early and develop mitigation strategies to minimise disruptions and ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Budget Management: Monitor project budgets and make adjustments where necessary to ensure financial objectives are met.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement quality control processes to ensure deliverables meet established standards and requirements.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular progress updates and presentations for the executive leadership team, highlighting key milestones, achievements, and challenges.
  • Team Leadership: Provide strong leadership to project teams, fostering a collaborative, high-performance work culture.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor's / Master's degree in Manufacturing/Engineering/Project Management, or related field.
  • 5+ years' experience in Project/Programme Management, preferably in the electronics or technology sector (although not essential).
  • Strong knowledge of PM methodologies, Agile/Waterfall.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira).
  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments is a plus.
  • Project Management qualification is advantageous, PMP/Prince2/Lean-six-sigma
