A Mechanical Design Engineer with strong 2D and3D CAD skills; a backgroundwithin a High-Tech Manufacturing Company and with a focus on high quality output, will join an exciting Companywithin the renewable energy industry.

Applicants should bring a minimum of a 1st/2.1 Mechanical Engineering Degree, possess proven design experience gained within a High-Tech industrial environment such as Aerospace, Automotive or Telecoms, as well as bringing a good understanding of thermal modelling, stress and fatigue modelling. Experience of testing using environmental chambers or wind tunnels is highly beneficial.

The successful Mechanical Design Engineer will contribute to design, research and development with a focus on high quality outputs. Youll conduct research involving thermal modelling and FEA modelling; working closely with acoustics, aerodynamics and electronic colleagues to assess the impact of mechanical design on system performance.

Key Skills and Experience will ideally include:

  • Minimum of BSc in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline.
  • In-depth knowledge of 3D CAD technology
  • Ability to create freehand drawings and knowledge of 2D drawing.
  • Experience of Mechanical design within a High-Tech Manufacturing environment.
  • An understanding of Thermal modelling, FEA, Stress and fatigue modelling.
  • Working to stringent environmental and safety standards.
  • The ability to justify design choices and take full accountability for decisions.

A competitive salary package will be offered depending on your level of experience (full details on application) with a non-contributory pension scheme, private healthcare and the choice to work from home one day per week or take 3 extra days holiday per year.
