The Role

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a proactive and dedicated individual to lead the development and delivery of community-based gambling support services across the North East. In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Raise awareness of problem gambling and promote the service across the North East.
  • Build and maintain partnerships, engaging with networks, community initiatives, and key stakeholders.
  • Map community services to identify opportunities and strengthen referral pathways.
  • Organise and deliver community activities, including networking events, training sessions, and information campaigns.
  • Develop and support Community Champions to raise awareness and connect individuals to support services.
  • Provide training to help communities identify gambling harms and access treatment pathways.
  • Offer advice and interventions, including brief and extended brief interventions.
  • Ensure safeguarding compliance, following national and local policies.
  • Share insights and learning, fostering collaboration between community partners and internal teams.
  • Produce reports and project plans as required.

  • Promoting/marketing a service or programme and engaging specific audiences to get actively involved
  • Delivering presentations and/or facilitating training both physically and digitally
  • Working in a multi disciplinary setting / across multi-disciplinary teams
  • Providing advice, brief and extended brief interventions, responding to service user need
  • Working with vulnerable people
  • Peripatetic working in a community based setting
  • Regular monitoring, reporting and outcome measurement
  • Managing stakeholder relationships
Qualifications
  • Minimum level 4 qualification or equivalent in a relevant filed i.e. health and social care, social work, education, community, mental health, health promotion
  • Capable of independent travel across the North East region
