Tempest is partnering with a thriving SEMH school in Sutton, seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join their team. The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide tailored support to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and challenging behaviours.
- Work closely with students to enhance their academic progress and overall learning experience.
- Foster a nurturing approach to encourage positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
- De-escalate challenging behaviours effectively using proven techniques.
- Utilize sensory breaks to help regulate students and maintain a calm environment.
- Collaborate with staff to create strategies that improve student outcomes.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Previous experience working with SEMH students.
- The ability to commit to a full-time schedule, Monday to Friday (8:30 AM - 4:00 PM).
- The right to work in the UK.
- An enhanced DBS check (or be willing to obtain one).
- Reliable transportation to the school in Merton.
