About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and caring SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Sutton, working exclusively with a Key Stage 1 (KS1) student with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This role involves providing 1-to-1 support for a child with SEN, focusing on their individual needs and helping them thrive in the classroom environment.

In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the educational, social, and emotional development of children in KS1. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative and supportive team in Sutton, helping young learners reach their full potential through engaging lessons and activities.

An enhanced DBS check will be required for this position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1-to-1 support to a child with SEN, ensuring their needs are met and helping them engage with the curriculum.
  • Assist teachers in preparing resources and maintaining an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
  • Facilitate the child's learning and development through structured activities and play.
  • Monitor and document the child's progress, sharing insights with staff and parents to ensure continued development.
  • Promote a safe, clean, and positive environment in line with safeguarding policies.
Requirements
  • Experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant in a school setting, particularly working 1-to-1 with SEN children, is desirable.
  • A caring, patient approach with strong communication and teamwork skills.
